Today we wrote all about bats and tried to use descriptive language:
"I saw a hovering bat. I saw a bat swooping." H.V. "There's a bat hovering above, looking with his eagle eye at a squeaky rat." L. G. "I saw a freaky, fuzzy, flying blood-sucking bat with a slimy tongue." E.W. I saw a teeny-weeny munching crunching bat." D.K. We also began doing some research about bats. Each student posed a question and tried to locate it, put it into his or her own words and record a jot note. Whoosh! This is the amazing application of reading and writing and summarizing and communicating, learning to become researchers. Tomorrow we have library and just a reminder there is no school on Friday as it is a PD Day for teachers. Many students received their photos today.
